Volleyball
The Blue volleyball team defeated Greene Hills yesterday by a close score of 2-1.  they lost the first game 25-22 due to some tough serving from the Gators.  In the second game, the team started off strong behind the solid serves from Alex Rivera.  With the score 2-1, Alex stepped to the line and delivered 11 points in a row, including 3 aces, to bring the team to a 20-3 lead.  The teams continued to battle back and forth, and Blue was able to edge out Greene Hills 25-21, forcing a third match.  The Blue team wasted no time in their attack.  Coming together, behind great defensive play from Samantha Sklenka.  In the JV game, the team struggled in the first match, losing 25-8, but put up an awesome effort in the second, losing 25-21.  Emily Valentine, Maria Tataj, and Angelina Fasci all served well.  Leah Sklenka also served well and made a nice save on defense for the Hornets.  

Soccer
The Boys Blue soccer team won a "head-scratcher" of a game yesterday by defeating Greene Hills 7-6.  GH jumped out to a fast start and led the game 4-1 at halftime.  the Hornets regrouped, and in the second half put in 6 goals, including the game-winner by Cody Greger.  Cody knocked in the only Chippens goal in the first half after a great pass from Fassa Kamano up the sideline.  Dorian added three goals of his own, including a penalty kick late in the second half.  Landon Sisson scored his first goal as a Hornet, knocking home a pass from Connor Cyr on a corner kick.  Nate Fries also had a goal, his 5th of the season.  Geik Doci had some terrific saves the the second half.

Girls Blue soccer won their first game yesterday against the Grene Hills Gators.  Strong  Defense and good passing led the Hornets to score 7 unanswered goals.  Victoria Kosciewicz scored 3 goals, Abby Quintero scored two after many close chances, Jocelyn Thomas and Gabby Gonzales each scored a goal.  Working hard for Chippens Hill were Sarah Hartley and Selina Kileb.
