Chippens Hill Middle School is committed to providing a teaching and learning environment where all students, staff, and parents feel that they are valued and supported members of our school community. Our goal is to work together to ensure that every student reaches their highest potential in a culturally diverse community.  In order to ensure that every student reaches their highest potential, we have implemented a student support center/restorative room at Chippens Hill Middle School for students who require behavioral/emotional interventions.  This classroom is facilitated by our Social Emotional Learning Coordinator, Student Success Coordinator, student interns and other school faculty.

Goals of the CHMS Student Support Center are:

  • Acknowledge student’s behavior that has impacted social-emotional or academic growth in a collaborative and proactive manner.
  • Identify the impact student behavior has on students and their communities.
  • Identify and process events that lead up to unsolved problems/behavior.
  • Identify alternative strategies and/or interventions that students can successfully use in and outside of the classroom.
  • Provide “practice time” to successfully master pro- social strategies/interventions through positive youth development programming.
  • Restore relationships / repair any harm that has been caused.
  • Get students back to classrooms and  ready to learn so they may reach their highest potential.
