We, the staff, are committed to providing for all students a quality educational program with academic, ethical, physical, and creative experiences appropriate to the widely different backgrounds, interests, aptitudes, abilities, and needs of young adolescents.
Developmentally, the middle school adolescent is in a transitional period characterized by great differences in physical, intellectual, emotional, and social growth. It is our hope that through interaction with adults and peers all students will discover not only their self-worth and potential, but also sensitivity toward and respect for the abilities, values, and attitudes of others.
We believe all students should be taught to accept responsibility for their own actions and learning as they develop the problem-solving and decision-making skills that will prepare them for responsible citizenship in the home, school, community, and the world. Chippens Hill Middle School’s Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) creates a positive learning environment where students and adults thrive and experience academic and social success. Students are acknowledged throughout the school day as they develop self-discipline and exhibit C.A.R.E.S. expectations, recognizing the positive contributions that they make to their school community.
